The method of raising calendula
Where raising calendula flowers, fertilization is very important. When fertilizing, first check the fertility of the soil. If the soil is barren and the fertility is lacking, you need to cultivate it with fertile soil, supplemented by fertilizer, so that the soil is fertile and the nutrients are sufficient to benefit the growth of calendula.
The fertilizer should be naturally decomposed organic fertilizer, such as livestock manure, or bean cake fermentation. This kind of fertilizer is mild and long-lasting, can nourish the land, and make the calendula root system strong. The method of fertilization is to dig shallow ditches around the roots of the flowers, sprinkle the fertilizer evenly, and then cover the soil and bury it. Do not let the fertilizer come into direct contact with the flower roots to prevent burning the roots.
The amount of fertilization needs to be determined according to the size of the flower and the growth stage. When the plant is young, the fertility demand is small, and it is advisable to apply thin fertilizer diligently, and the amount of fertilizer should not be too much each time; and the flower plant is getting larger, the branches and leaves are lush, and the flowering period is approaching, the amount of fertilizer needs to be increased to promote the flourishing of the flowers and bright colors. However, it should not be excessive, and it is easy to cause futile growth. Although the flowers are large and the color and taste are not good, and it is easy to attract diseases and pests.
In the middle of the four o'clock, everything recovers in spring, and calendula begins to grow, so you can apply thin fertilizer lightly to help it grow; in summer, it grows vigorously and needs more fertilizer, so you can apply a slightly thicker fertilizer once a month; in autumn, the flowers gradually wither, which can reduce fertilization, so that the plants can accumulate nutrients for the winter; in winter, calendula growth stagnates, generally without fertilization. In this way, by fertilizing on time and by plant, calendula will be able to flourish and bloom, delicate and moving.
