Marigold Water Requirements
Water requirements of calendula

Calendula, like a humid environment, but the amount of water it needs varies from time to time and the growth stage.

In spring, the climate warms up, everything recovers, and calendula begins to sprout. At this time, water demand increases. However, the soil should not accumulate water to prevent root rot. Every three or five days, depending on the degree of dryness and wetness of the soil, water it moderately, so that the soil is always moist but not too wet.

In summer, the weather is extremely hot, the water evaporates rapidly, and the water demand of calendula increases greatly. Every morning or evening, water enough to make up for the loss of evaporation. And watering should be thorough, so that the water can seep deep into the roots, but it should not cause water to accumulate at the bottom of the basin, causing waterlogging and damage to the plants.

In autumn, the temperature gradually drops, and the growth of calendula slows down, so that the water demand is also reduced. Water about once a week to keep the soil slightly moist to help it transition smoothly to the dormant period.

During the cold winter, the growth of calendula stagnates, and the water demand is extremely low. It is enough to water once a month, and the water temperature should be close to room temperature to avoid damaging its roots.

In short, when raising calendula, it is necessary to accurately grasp the water demand requirements according to the season and growth conditions, so as to make its flowers prosperous and full of vitality.
