OC vs Pepper Spray
On the difference between OC and pepper spray
In ancient times, to defend against the enemy, the equipment was different. Today, both OC and pepper spray are the choice for self-defense. The similarities and differences between the two are worth exploring.

OC is derived from natural pepper extract, its main component capsaicin, which is powerful. When sprayed out, it touches the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract, instantly triggering a hot feeling, causing the target to suffer unbearable pain and lose their ability to move for a short time. Because of its natural extraction, it has certain biodegradability and relatively slight impact on the environment.

Pepper spray, although it is also derived from pepper, may have different production processes and proportions of ingredients. The spray effect may be different from OC in terms of coverage and duration. Or due to formula adjustment, some pepper sprays may add other auxiliary ingredients in addition to capsaicin to enhance the stimulating effect or change the action characteristics.

From the perspective of the use effect, OC takes effect quickly, has a strong tingling feeling, and can instantly defeat the enemy. In some scenes, or due to the fine-tuning of the ingredients, the effect of pepper spray is slightly slower, but its coverage may be wider, and it can also be effective in group scenes.

When it comes to safety, although OC acts rapidly, if used properly, it generally does not cause long-term damage. If the ingredient ratio of pepper spray is not good, it may have unexpected effects on the user himself and the surrounding innocent people. For example, if used improperly in a confined space, the spray will disperse, and the user will also suffer from it.

Furthermore, the application scenarios of the two are also different. OC is suitable for individual self-defense in close-range emergencies due to its concentrated effectiveness. Pepper spray may be more advantageous when dealing with multiple harassment in a slightly open space due to its coverage advantages.

In short, although OC and pepper spray are both self-defense devices, their compositions, effects, safety and application scenarios vary. Users need to be discerning and choose reasonably according to the actual situation in order to maximize their effectiveness and ensure their own safety.
