Pepper Spray vs OC Spray
The difference between pepper spray and OC spray
Nowadays, there are pepper spray and OC spray, which are often confused, but in fact the difference is quite large.

Pepper spray is made with pepper as the base material. Pepper contains capsaicin, which is the source of irritation. However, its ingredients are not pure capsaicin, but are often mixed with other plant extracts or additives to enhance the effect or improve the characteristics. This spray has a wide range of irritation, not only acting on the eyes, respiratory tract, but also on the skin. Due to its complex composition, individual reactions vary greatly, or vary depending on the constitution and environment.

OC spray, specifically refers to the chilli oleoresin (OC) purified in pepper extract as the core component. OC is rich in high-concentration capsaicin, which is precisely refined and has high purity. Compared with pepper spray, OC spray is more targeted. After spraying, it can quickly cause severe eye pain and tears, and the respiratory tract is also strongly stimulated, causing breathing difficulties, thus effectively defeating the enemy. Because of its high purity, the effect is stable, and it is less disturbed by other impurities.

From the perspective of the speed of action, OC spray has a rapid onset due to high-purity OC ingredients, and instantly achieves a stimulating effect. Although pepper spray can also cause stimulation, it may take effect or be slightly slower due to complex ingredients and differences in capsaicin concentration.

In applicable scenarios, pepper spray can be used to deal with multiple people or chaotic situations due to its wide range of stimulation. OC spray is mostly used in scenarios where precise enemy control and quick effect are required, such as when law enforcement officers deal with individual violent resistance.

To sum up, although both pepper spray and OC spray have the effect of self-defense and enemy defense, the composition, speed of action and applicable scenarios are different. Users should clarify the differences and choose them according to their actual needs in order to make the best use and ensure their own safety.
