Manufacture of Red 40
Red 40 is a commonly used colorant. Its manufacturing method is especially exquisite.
At the beginning, appropriate organic compounds are taken, mostly from coal tar and so on. These raw materials are finely refined to remove their impurities and retain their usable quality.
Then, the steps of chemical synthesis are carried out.
