Tropical vs Hardy Hibiscus
Tropical hibiscus and cold-resistant hibiscus have their own characteristics. Tropical hibiscus has colorful flowers and diverse flower forms, or large as a plate, or exquisite and chic. However, it is afraid of cold and likes warm and humid environments. It needs careful maintenance in cold places. If it encounters frost and snow, it may be difficult to survive.

Cold-resistant hibiscus, although its color may not be as dazzling as that of tropical hibiscus, it has strong cold resistance and can stand tall in cold winters. It can overwinter in open fields in many places in the north, and has a wide range of adaptability.

When planting, tropical hibiscus needs to choose a warm and sunny place with fertile soil and good drainage, and it needs to be moved to a greenhouse for care in winter. Cold-resistant hibiscus does not have harsh soil requirements and can be managed extensively. It can grow well in gardens and roadsides.

The two have their own advantages and disadvantages. Those who love flowers can choose to plant them according to the regional climate and personal preferences to add to the garden scenery.
